House Church Structure/Missional Gathering
There will be two type of structures that exist in the community, the Public Gathering and house church
Public Gatherings - These will operate in different spheres through the city- bars, pubs, restaurants, coffee shops, malls etc. This is any area that is considered "public."
House Gatherings - These are gathering that take place in a home, and are operated like a home church. These areas will provide a more intimate area for growth, worship and prayer.
These Gatherings will be structured to be ran by Christians who are functioning as deacons. The word deacon means servant, and biblicaly they are "pastoral assistants," those who assist the Elder's (the primary church leadership) in running the church. Whereas Elder's are Men whom are called to serve, lead, and administer, deacons can be both men and women who are given a job function to assist in helping the Elders.
Ideally these gatherings will be overseen by 3 people. These 3 people will operate in concert with one another, but hold three different gifting-functions within the gatherings;
King - This person will take care of organizing gatherings, events, and locations...
Priest - This person will primarily take care follow-up and counceling...
Prophet - This person will primarily focus on leading the Bible Study....
These Gathering's should take on a life of their own, but they would ideally follow a structure of Prayer, discussing verses from Sunday's corporate worship, and sharing in food (the Lord's supper). These gatherings should participate in communion (remembering the body and blood of the Lord) at least once a month, whereas the "Lord's Supper" is open for all to eat it, communion will only be reserved for repentant believers (preferably baptized or in the process of getting baptized). This will serve as an opportunity for the deacons to lead people to Christ, and also demonstrate out inclusiveness (by sharing in a meal) but also our exclusivity (by restricting communion to only believers).
